Privacy Policy for Pact

This Privacy Policy describes how Pact (“the App”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our mobile application.

1. Information We Collect

When you create an account and use Pact, we collect:

• Account information: your name and email address, provided when you sign up.
• Pairing and challenge data: the partners you pair with, the shared challenges you create, and your completion records for those challenges.
• Device notification token: used only to support on-device daily reminder notifications; not used for cross-device messaging.

We do not collect payment information, precise location, contacts, photos, or any data beyond what is described above.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Create and manage your account.
• Let you pair with a partner and share a private space of challenges and progress between you.
• Sync challenge completions and streaks in real time between paired partners.
• Send an optional daily reminder notification, scheduled locally on your device.

We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising or share it with third parties for marketing purposes.

3. Third-Party Services

Pact is built on Google Firebase, specifically:

• Firebase Authentication — manages your account sign-in (email and password).
• Cloud Firestore — stores your account, pairing, and challenge data securely.

These services are operated by Google and are governed by Google’s Privacy Policy. We configure Firestore security rules so that your data is only readable by you and the partner(s) you’ve explicitly paired with.

4. Data Sharing Between Partners

When you pair with another user, your name and challenge/completion activity within that shared space become visible to that partner only. Each pairing is independent — partners in one pairing cannot see your data from a different pairing.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

Your data is retained for as long as your account exists. You can:

• Unpair from a partner at any time, which removes you from that shared space.
• Request full account and data deletion by contacting us at the email below.

6. Children’s Privacy

Pact is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above.
